Thank you for visiting the Marlboro Yacht Club’s website. The Marlboro Yacht Club (MYC) is located in Marlboro, NY and is nestled on the west side of the Hudson river, between the Mid-Hudson and Newburgh-Beacon Bridges. If you have a passion for the water being power or sail, and want a club that promotes lasting friendships and is family oriented, come see who we are. We host social events, family’s parties, informal and formal gatherings, and much more. Why Join Us?
We offer different levels of membership. We have a spacious clubhouse, large yard, mooring field, and 82 slips accommodating power and sail up to 50 feet. As a member of the Marlboro Yacht Club we offer many options such as gas at membership discount pricing, all pump outs included, winter storage either block or trailer, travel lift for launch and removal, and many others.
Our membership levels are broken down as follows: Boating members are those individuals (and their spouses or partners) who either own a boat which is docked or moored at the Marlboro Yacht Club. Full access to the Club House, grounds, and Club events. An initiation fee and yearly dues are required. Associate members are those who have an active interest in boating but do not have an active boat in the club. Associate members have access to the Club House, grounds, and Club events. Yearly due's are required, but are less than Boating Members. Prospective members are also welcome to come to Marlboro Yacht Club and tour the area with the easy possibility of meeting a member. Beginning May 1, 2019 all boat operators born on or after May 1, 1996 are now required to obtain a Safe Boating Certificate by completing an eight-hour safe boating course. Courses may be completed and certificates obtained through State Parks, U.S. Power Squadrons, or the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. Previous law only required the operator of a personal watercraft or any youthful boat operator to obtain a Safe Boating Certificate. A new law signed by the Governor phases-in this existing requirement to all boaters beginning with those born on or after May 1, 1996. A list of approved courses is available on the State Parks website. Keeping track of a NY Safe Boating Certificate is easier thanks to the Governor’s Adventure License initiative. If you have taken an approved safe boating course and received your NY Safe Boating Certificate, with just a few easy steps, you can choose to have your certification also reflected on your NYS Driver License, Non-Driver ID or Learner Permit as a small anchor icon. This DMV designation will eliminate the need to carry your boating safety certificate with you when boating. NY Boating Safety Course online. The cost is $34.95 and is recommended for ALL boaters.
As of January 1, 2020, New York will begin a phase-in-by-age law that will require a new age group to become certified each year, requiring all motorized boat and PWC operators to pass a boater safety course and to carry a New York boater card by January 1, 2025. All motorized boat operators born on or after January 1, 1993, will be required to carry the New York boater card by January 1, 2020. |
